iPhone MMS and AT&T

OK, so I’m not a huge MMS fan.  But that’s probably because I’ve had pretty lame phones before I bought my first iPhone a few years ago.  My only cool pre-iPhone phone I had was a Blackberry Pearl that was moderately cool but nothing compared to the awesomeness that is my iPhone.  But even though my iPhone can take pictures and stream video and almost everything else my Macbook can do it still lacks one thing: MMS.  Sure I can take a sweet pic but I have to email to you to show it to you.  That’s no fun!!!  AND if you send me a pic then I have to go to a website and login just to see it.  Not very mobile and immediate to me.

But on September 25th, AT&T announces that it will begin supporting the use of MMS on the iPhone 3G and 3Gs models.  This will coincide with an iPhone software update that will be available on the same day.  AT&T claims that they’ve been trying to make sure that their systems can handle the projected flood of traffic that this new feature will bring.  Again, I’m not a huge MMS user will probably only use it every so often but knowing others, like my sister, their predicted traffic will probably be underestimated. Let’s see if this actually does roll out without a hitch in three weeks.

On a similar subject, let’s talk about dropped calls.  I consider myself a very patient person but when I drop a call right before someone tells me something important or as I’m getting directions or having a serious conversation….I get IRATE!!! It’s like my phone is all of a sudden much more interested in something else.  I used to think that it was AT&T’s cell network but I’ve been reading that it is apparently due to overloaded iPhone networks.  Well, AT&T better get on their game and quick.  If MMS is really coming soon and I’m still getting cut off after holding with customer support for 10 minutes, I definitely don’t want to get bumped off because some 12 year old is sending a picture of his rad new skateboard to his buddies!!!

That’s all.
